Legendary Entertainment has announced its acquisition of the film and television rights to the Tier One series, penned by authors Brian Andrews and Jeff Wilson. This exciting development marks a transformative phase for the studio.
The Tier One series centers around John Dempsey, an elite Navy SEAL whose life takes a dramatic turn when his unit is attacked by a terrorist group. As the sole survivor, Dempsey is drawn into a covert black ops team, embarking on an extraordinary path as a top spy for the United States government.
With eight books already in the series and a ninth anticipated next year, Legendary Television is in the early stages of developing this project. The executive production team includes Marcus Blakely (Neuromancer), Peter Johnson (Supernatural), and the authors themselves, Andrews and Wilson, along with Brendan Deneen, a former Miramax executive now at Blackstone Publishing, and Josh Stanton, CEO of Blackstone Publishing.
This latest acquisition is part of a broader trend, with Blackstone Publishing developing projects with major studios including Netflix, Amazon Studios, NBC/Universal, AMC, and Lionsgate.
